64. Press F3 to see your coordinates; the y is your level. Methinks the sea level is at 64, but you might be at it when you're at 64.5 or 65. Just go down to a freaking huge body of water and that should be it. Rollback Post to Revision RollBack- Redstone Miner

Sea level is at 64/65. You should try using f3. It helps with a lot of stuff like finding your location. Really helps if you die whilst on an epic quest. Rollback Post to Revision RollBack- Ghast Hunter

Except that when you are standing on a shore, your Y will show as 65.6, not 66.6. Look for yourself. Any map I've made, if I'm standing at the shore, looking out over the ocean, my Y is 65.6. The water itself is at block level 63. The block you are standing on is also at 63. The area that covers from the bottom of your feet, to about your waist, occupies level 64. And from your waist up to just above your head occupies level 65. 65.6 is where your eyes are at. 66.0 is the line that starts the bottom of the next block up from you. It may be confusing, if you think of blocks wrong. When a block is at, say, 32, the 32 is the line at the very bottom of the block. The line just before the NEXT block up would be 32.9. Your head is in the middle of block 65. 65.6 is where your eyes are. But it doesn't get to 66 until you cross into the next block up. Rollback Post to Revision RollBack- Diamond Miner

When you look at the f3 coordinates you should see that the int values 63, 64 and so on is actually the thin layer between blocks and that blocks are placed between those layers. In most computer languages we start counting from 0. This means that block layer number 0 is between coordinates 0 and 1, block layer 1 is between coordinate 1 and 2 and so on. The topmost water block is block layer number 63, placed between y coordinate 63 and 64. If you want to count as a human you will need to round up to the closest whole number. This gives us 64 as the topmost water block for natural sea water. If you look horizontally straight into a block and the coordinate say 32,6, then you are looking at block layer 33 (or 32 if you are a machine.) The coordinates you see when pressing f3 is actually the coordinates used by the camera. If you use third person view (f5) you should see the coordinates changing when you wave the camera around. PS. I haven't really been testing this out so I'm not 100% sure if I know what I'm talking about. Please test yourself :smile.gif: Rollback Post to Revision RollBack
