According to Variety, the Jesse Palmer-hosted series, along with other seasonal Food Network shows like Halloween Baking Championship, Holiday Baking Championship, and Kids Baking Championship, all chose to film at a resort in California for their 2021 seasons. Every participant had to test negative for COVID-19 and undergo quarantine at the resort. Subsequently, the bakers were invited to the Spring Baking Tent outside to tackle their challenges.

"It's been 5 years…" Jesse explained, expressing his excitement on Instagram about his return to the wildly popular competition series. "But I am SO HAPPY to announce that I’ll be returning as host of Spring Baking Championship on [Food Network] and [Discovery Plus]!!! I'm bringing my pastels and dad jokes…"

In 2021, Kardea Brown replaced longtime judge Lorraine Pascal for Season 7, bringing her wealth of Food Network experience to the panel. In addition to Spring Baking Championship, Kardea has also judged Cupcake Championship and hosts her own show, Delicious Miss Brown, where she showcases recipes passed down from her family.
