nnewuser N I am interested in the Mossberg 930 series shotguns but I am hesitant to buy a Mossberg made i off shore . I feel that a manufacturer doesn't have as much long term commitment to models that are easily discontinued. #1 · Dec 22, 2015 I am interested in the Mossberg 930 series shotguns but I am hesitant to buy a Mossberg made i off shore . USA. #5 · Dec 30, 2015 More likely Eagle Pass, Mexas. North Haven is dwindling away-giving way to Eagle Pass just north of the border in Texas assembling Mexican and US parts to say "Made in the USA." Not seeing much activity at North Haven here in Connecticut. Not like the old days. Families worked for generations at OE Mossberg. Tax breaks, out-sourcing profits and gun laws made it too tempting to continue major manufacturing in Connecticut. A friends nephew worked in North Haven until he was given his layoff notice in late 2014. I will have to ask what remains in North Haven. I thought the 590 was still being made here last year, but I'm not so sure anymore. Funny, I can remember Smith & Wesson (25 minutes from me) had one shift primarily for production. In the last 10 years the place is buzzing like the old days. #6 · Dec 31, 2015 Image Image Image Mossberg's corporate affiliate Maverick Arms Inc. opened a 40,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in Eagle Pass, Texas in 1989 to cope with increasing manufacturing and labor expenses and foreign competition. Mossberg manufactures more pump shotguns than any other manufacturer in the world. In 2013, O. F. Mossberg & Sons employed 270 people in North Haven, CT while Maverick Arms employed 450 people in Eagle Pass. Mossberg purchases from a pool of contractors that employ close to 1,000 people. Responding to Connecticut's 2013 anti-pistol grip, anti-large magazine capacity gun control law, Mossberg reduced employees and declined to expand in North Haven, and instead added 50 employees and 116,000 square feet of factory space costing $3.4 million in Eagle Pass. The above photograph was made before this expansion. All barrels, all wood gun stock production, and more than 90% of Mossberg's guns are now made in the Eagle Pass facility, which currently assembles and distributes firearms for the Mossberg, Maverick and Mossberg International brands. Corporate headquarters remain in North Haven. Mossberg invested more than $4 million in equipment in 2012 to produce its new MMR rifle there, but has considered moving its production to Eagle Pass. #7 · Jan 4, 2016 Way to go CT... MD just lost a similar amount of jobs when Beretta effectively took 300 of its jobs to TN. MD just elected the first Republican Governor in about a decade but it was too late to save them (jobs). Our former governor who oversaw the loss of those jobs and many others is now running for President. That's right it's... Marty O'Malley, who most recently attempted to get himself on the Ohio primary ballot by submitting a petition with as many as 1,000 fraudulent names. Luckily Ohio seems to be staying vigilant about voting fraud, after their problems with it in 2008; they reviewed the liar's documents closely and rejected him. That should mean the end of the race for him but I'm sure his or possibly the DNC's lawyers will find some way around it or at least someone to accept payment for the privilege (Democrat - the party of marxists, liars, appeasers and apologists). #8 · Jan 4, 2016 Tennessee (Beretta) #9 · Jan 4, 2016 Image Perhaps it's time for Eagle Pass, TX to be on the feed port engraving, assuming that North Haven, CT is not legally required. Does anyone know? Also shown are the older feed port engraving (bottom) and the recently changed feed port engraving (middle). Insert Quotes Post Reply
