Acadia National Park in Maine is one of the most visited places in America. It is made up of a cluster of islands on the Atlantic coast. Its mainland is Mount Desert Island, which includes the enchanting town Bar Harbor. The park has about 45,000 acres of forests, lakes, mountains, wetlands, and ocean shoreline. There is everything here from sub-alpine to intertidal and subtidal zones, with a wide array of animals and plants. The rocky shore lies at the base of steep granite slopes, including Cadillac Mountain - the highest point on the East Coast.

The breathtaking ocean encompasses the park. On the shore, there are 125 miles of wilderness trails and 45 miles of historic carriage roads used for hiking, biking, horseback rides, and carriages. Visitors enjoy the historic culture and unique environmental diversity this park has to offer. Whether on the shore or the sea, there are plentiful outdoor and indoor activities. There are also excellent lodging facilities in and around the park.

Acadia Inn This 95-room hotel is located near the waterfront in charming Bar Harbor only ½ mile from the park. It features many amenities for guests including a heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, gift shop, and a deluxe continental breakfast.

Acadia Hotel This historic inn built in 1884 overlooks The Village Green and has been newly renovated to include modern conveniences while keeping its antique, Victorian appeal. There are 11 contemporary Standard or Queen rooms with Wireless Internet access.

The Bar Harbor Days Inn Motel Only a mile from the park entrance and the CAT ferry to Nova Scotia is this 66-room motel with ocean views and lighted tennis courts, a putting green, fitness room, and new heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi.
