Whimsyshire is a Secret Level, or secret land, in Diablo 3. When you enter the Secret Level of Whimsyshire a Feat of Strength along with a Banner and Sigil are unlocked. You can run the Whimsyshire level as many times as you want and you will get the In The Land Of Killer Unicorns achievement for finding it.
Whimsyshire is a level of rainbows and unicorns that may be a reference to complaints about the colorful graphics of Diablo 3. It also may be a reference to the Diablo 2 "Cow Level."

Items needed
You must create a Staff of Herding to find Whimsyshire.[2] (the following components can be found on Normal difficulty)
Components
Black Mushroom - This spawns in Cathedral Level 1, Act 1
Shinbone - Spawns randomly in the fireplace in Leoric's Manor, Act 1 (Is not required to craft the 'Staff of Herding' in the console version)
Liquid Rainbow - Spawns in the Mysterious Cave in the Mysterious Chest in the Dalghur Oasis, Act 2. Save Zaven the Alchemist from a few ghostly attackers and he will open the Mysterious Cave. The Liquid Rainbow is always dropped from the Mysterious Chest (which looks like a Resplendant Chest) however, the Mysterious Chest will not always appear in the Mysterious Cave. The fastest way to get here is to start at Betrayer of the Horadrim: The Forgotten Ruins quest as it drops you right in the middle of the Oasis. (Is not required to craft the "Staff of Herding" in the console version)
Wirts Bell is sold by Squirt the Peddler in the Hidden Camp in Act 2 for 100,000 gold. (Cost 25,000 gold on the console version)
Gibbering Gemstone - A random drop from Chiltara in the Caverns of Frost, Act 3. It's in the Fields of Slaughter, Ballistae fight area. If you get Icefall Caves exit out and try again. The mob is random.
The Plans for the Staff of Herding drop randomly from Izual, Act 4.
50,000 gold is required, once all pieces are obtained, to craft the staff. (Cost 5000 gold on the console version)
For the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, only the Black Mushroom, Wirt's Bell and Gibbering Gemstone (as well as the Plans) are required for crafting the staff.
