Possibly going to just try for financing through Ford for our next vehicle(s) and right now the dealerships close by have some amazing deals for new vehicles. Just curious who Ford usually pulls because my EX and TU scores are considerably higher than my EQ score.
My plan is to trade in our 2013 Ford Explorer XLT and get a new F150 and either the Focus or Fiesta. We need a second vehicle anyway and this would be a great way for us to get a second vehicle for a great deal. Dealership currently has 2014 F150 4dr 4wd Ecoboost for ~$28k and 2014 Focus and Fiesta for ~$12k. Hoping to get into both for around $40k.
Currently financing our Explorer with NFCU, but they always pull EQ and don't want to finance through them. I never finance through the dealership, but I'm hoping if they pull EX or TU I may have a decent chance to get the 1.9% APR for the loans or at least close to it. Do dealerships ever work deals to sell 2 cars at once?
Thanks,
j_casteel

Re: Who does Ford usually pull?
According to the credit pull database, they seem to pull all of them depending on your location. What state are you in?

Most of everything I saw was old info as well. Is there any chance you could jump on a Ford forum and ask there? They may not be as credit savvy as this one but you may get lucky and get a couple of people in WA that understands the car buying process and HPs.

Ford Motor Credit favors Eq and Ex. I was just looking through a lenders guide that I have here at work. I would suggest you speak with the finance manager before they pull your credit and see what they will be pulling. If you really don't want them to pull your Eq I would think about freezing it and when you go to purchase the vehicle tell them you have it frozen for person reasons, fraud or whatever have you, and they will be forced to pull another bureau.
Also by financing through the dealership you will have more "buyer power", and be able to talk down the price. Remember to never take 0%! That's my number one advice to all of my customers. If you take the 0% you will miss out on some rebates. Always make sure you get all the rebates you qualify for even if that means taking the interest rate.

I spoke with the Internet Sales Manager today, and he told me that this is for "Ford's non-Agressive rates" the rebates are so high (~$13k-$13.5k off) that he said the rate will be a 5.9%, BUT I can easily refi later he mentioned. He said Ford just would like it if I made the first 4 payments to them before refi somewhere else. He also mentioned he believes EX is the bureau they usually use. He thinks they may or may not pull all 3, but they usually use EX for the financing.
The dealership is ~3hrs away so I'm going to head up there Friday and see what they give us for our 2013 Explorer and see if we can work out a deal for 2 new vehicles for ~$40k.

I went ahead and froze my EQ file b/c it already has the most INQ's and its the lowest score so I feel it needs to take a break.

Haha thanks for the kind words guys! And sorry about not chiming in sooner, I've been slacking off recently. In fairness, I'm relaxing since I just graduated.
Anyways, I have no exact info on who FMC pulls.
But that said, with captive lenders, dealers can often convince the captive lender to accept whatever bureau is highest. Honestly if you froze your EQ, I have no doubt that the dealer will pull the other 2 and just submit those. I'd be shocked if they had you unfreeze EQ or even bothered looking at EQ.
Also be sure to get your trade valued @ Carmax first if you can so you know the MINIMUM price for your trade so that the dealership doesn't rip you off.
