BOB Dole, 98, has been remembered in emotional tributes after passing away in the early hours of December 5, 2021.

The former presidential candidate and Republican senate leader died in his sleep, following a battle with lung cancer, and is survived by his second wife, Elizabeth, and daughter, Robin Dole.

Who is Bob Dole’s daughter Robin?

Robin Dole, 67, is the only child of Bob and his first wife Phyllis.

Robin grew up in Kansas and Washington DC.

She even helped out Bob with his political campaigns, though she did not have an official label for her duties, she was said to have given one hundred percent.

She keeps a largely private life, and not much is known.

Phyllis, was an occupational therapist at a veterans’ hospital, in Battle Creek, Michigan.

The pair were married in 1948 but divorced on January 11, 1972.

Phyllis died on April 22, 2008.

Did Bob Dole have any children with wife Elizabeth?

Mary Elizabeth Alexander Hanford, 85, was a Harvard Law School graduate who became Bob’s second wife in 1975.

The married until his death on December 5, 2021.

Elizabeth and Bob met in 1972, around the time of his divorce from Phyllis.

Elizabeth is known as an American politician and author who served in the Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and George H. W. Bush presidential administrations.

Throughout her career, she also served as the United States Senator for North Carolina from 2003 to 2009.

The couple had no children, though she is stepmother to Bob’s daughter Robin from his first marriage of 24 years.

When is Bob Dole’s funeral?

Bob will lie in state at the US Capitol on Thursday, December 9.

A ceremony was held to honor the former senator on December 9. President Joe Biden gave an address.

He called Dole “a giant of our history” and “one of our greatest patriots.”

His funeral will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021, in Washington, DC at the Washington National Cathedral.

Biden will attend the ceremony with former presidents of the United States.
