UFC fighter, Ronda Rousey, is known for getting a little ‘rowdy’ in the ring.

The 35-year-old pro-wrestler has achieved many ‘firsts’ over the course of her long-standing career.

Who is Ronda Rousey?

Ronda Jean Rousey was born in Riverside, California, on February 1, 1987. 

The 35-year-old is known as a professional wrestler, former judoka, and mixed martial artist.

‘Rowdy Ronda’ is best known for her time in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

In 2008, she became the first American female to earn an Olympic medal in judo by winning bronze at the Summer Olympics.

She began her mixed martial arts (MMA) career with King of the Cage in 2011 but retired five years later.

She was the first female fighter inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2018 and that same year she began a career in professional wrestling with WWE. 

She is the only woman to be the champion in both the UFC and WWE.

In 2018, she also was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.

Why was Rousey suspended from WWE?

On July 30, 2022, Rousey was suspended indefinitely from WWE after attacking an official at the SummerSlam event in Nashville.

After losing the women’s title match to Liv Morgan, she took up a fight with the referee by taking him by the arm, flipping him over onto the ring’s floor, and pinning him down.

According to an official statement by the WWE, Rousey “has been fined an undisclosed amount and will be suspended.”

Is Rousey married? 

Rousey officially started dating Travis Browne, 40, in October 2015. 

The pair became engaged two years later and tied the knot in Hawaii on August 28, 2017. 

The pair welcomed their daughter, La’akea Makalapuaokalanipō Browne, back in 2021. 

Rousey once dated fellow UFC fighter, Brendan Schaub.
