Shoyo Hinata

Goofy and undersized Hinata is the underdog of the story. He is much smaller than anyone else but that doesn’t stop him from overcoming challenges in front of him. Much like Kageyama, he also wants to be the best volleyball player in Japan.

His idol is The Little Giant, and many draw comparisons between the two. He sees Tobio as both rival and a friend. They help each other grow and get better by competing and pushing each other forward. Furthermore, he is determined to become Karasuno’s ace instead of Asahi.

Yu Nishinoya

Nishinoya is a libero that’s stealing everyone’s hearts. Just like Hinata, he’s much shorter than others. He’s not the best student, but he makes up for it on the volleyball court. We often see him in the company of Tanaka. The two easily draw attention to themselves with their shenanigans.

He is energetic and can change his temper in a moment. But on the court, he’s cool and collected. Well, until he has to receive the ball. Then he tends to come up with weird names for his “cool” moves.

Kei Tsukishima

Another genius on the court is Tsuki. Trademark of his game, and his personality, is his stoicism. He doesn’t really care about volleyball. Or at least that’s what he’s trying to show to others.

He competes as hard as others if not more. Thanks to his high IQ, he’s able to read the play before it happens and position himself perfectly. That combined with his height makes him a huge issue for an enemy offense.

Daichi Sawamura

The passionate, reliable captain of the Karasuno squad is Daichi. He rarely makes mistakes and leads by example. His love for the game and his team is great. While the rest of the team is quite goofy and childish, he’s much more mature and serious.

Asahi Azumane

On the outside, he might appear as a giant, but Asahi is gentle and caring. Often, he  gets insecure and doesn’t believe in his abilities. But as an Ace his team trusts him to lead them to victory.

He tends to take things too much to the heart which affects his mood. In the beginning, he didn’t care much, but as the show progressed his will and love for volleyball grow stronger.

Ryunosuke Tanaka

Tanaka is as temperamental as anyone you have ever seen. He easily gets fired up which often leads him into trouble. While he is not the best player on the team, he understands his role and is willing to sacrifice for the team.

He has a big interest in girls and tries approaching Kiyoko numerous times. Although his attempts are never fruitful, he looks out for her and protects her.
