Doodle dogs are more popular than ever before. The number of designer dog breeds with Poodle parentage is growing, and so are the number of people who own Doodles. A decade ago you would occasionally see a Doodle at the dog park and have to stop and ask the owner about their interesting and striking dog. Today, you immediately recognize the many Doodles you see by their bouncing locks and friendly demeanor.

So why are Doodles so popular? What is it about Doodle dogs that keeps them in such high demand?

Doodle dogs include many different dog breeds

Popularity is increasing, but one of the main reasons you see so many Doodle dogs these days is because a Doodle isn’t a single dog breed.

Basically, any designer dog that crosses a Poodle with another dog breed is a Doodle dog. This results in some wonderful dogs and fantastic nicknames; Goldendoodles, for example, are also known as Groodles, and Cavadoodles are also known as Cavoodles or Cavapoos.

Since many different dog breeds are Doodles, it makes sense that you see them around.

Doodles are hypoallergenic

One of the biggest draws for Doodle dogs is their light-shedding or non-shedding coats. Poodles are considered hypoallergenic dogs because of their non-shedding coats.

Not all Doodles develop this trait, but many do, especially F1b Doodles.

They are adorable

Another reason Doodle dogs are so popular is because they often look like living, breathing teddy bears. Doodles are some of the cutest dogs that you will ever see, and they are irresistible!
