Unlike other parts of the US, it is illegal for pepper spray to be mailed or delivered into the state of New York. The size of a legal pepper spray canister in New York must fit into a standard pocket and as a result, larger canisters or cans or illegal. New York law also states that a single person may only ever buy two canisters in any transaction and multiple transactions from the same source are also illegal. Do you? | Report Each state has its own laws regarding pepper spray. In New York, you must purchase pepper spray within the state at a licensed pharmacy or firearm dealer in person. You have to provide ID and must be 18 or older and have not been convicted of a felony and may be required to fill out a short form. You cannot purchase pepper spray from another state or buy it online. The pepper spray content cannot exceed 3/4 ounce so the larger spray of this home and away set would not be allowed.
