In The Great Gatsby, there are several love stories that are intertwined. Gatsby loves Daisy, she loves both Gatsby and her husband, her husband Tom loves Myrtle, but she is married to George. But the most exciting love triangle is between Gatsby, Daisy, and Tom. It is just strange that Daisy chose a man who never loved her.

Daisy is not the character to be judged because she did not have the patience to remain loyal to Gatsby. He was far away, and it was unknown if he would ever come back. She married Tom because of the stability he gave her as a wealthy person. As Nick describes it, Daisy married Tom due to the outside pressure and the desire to have someone beside her.

The woman was quite young and impatient to wait for her prince to return home safely. That is why she, once more, integrated herself into the extravagant society. Inevitably, she met a person who was as ‘artificial’ as her. But Tom was able to provide Daisy with everything she wished. She wanted more money, she wanted the presence of a man beside her, and she wanted all that instantly.

With Gatsby missing, Daisy was quick to find a new man in her life and married him at once. She had a weird relationship with Tom, and they kept on cheating on each other. But they were still unwilling to let go of the marriage. Later in the story, she had the same mixed feelings. Again, Daisy got to choose whether to stay with her husband or run away with Gatsby. As the reader can observe, she still preferred a stable and previously known life with Tom.
