A lot of people will say that it was Romeo or Juliet's fault for foolishly killing themselves. However, if one looks at the story backwards, it is easier to see whose fault it really was. Tybalt kills Romeo’s best friend Mercutio, and still decides that he would need to cause more harm by fighting Romeo. Romeo kills Tybalt to avenge Mercutio, and ended up being banished anyway. They claimed that it was an eye for an eye situation but the prince had to take out his anger on someone. This ended up in Romeo’s

One person who is to be blamed for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet is Friar Laurence. Although Friar Laurence is portrayed as a ‘good’ man – and seems to have/do no harm to the people of Verona – he is not completely blameless. In fact, Friar Laurence undoubtedly has the most blame for their death.
