1. Well, Christmas is coming~I am really interested in the topic of your blog. As you say, there are some people who hate Christmas. For me, when I was 6 or 7, I watched a movie called “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”. I was scared. The ugly monster with green fur was a nightmare during my hildhood. Thus, I didn’t like Christmas very much. Moreover, I was born in Taiwan and grew up in China, Christmas is not our loacl Festival. Spring Festival is my favorite : )

2. Social isolation is quite an interesting subject. I once watched a documentary on a social hermit who spent the last 15 years away from human civilization. From the grainy black and white footage of his first human encounter in 15 years, the hermit seemed more confused and shocked than anything. Of course the Grinch is a fictional character but I think you are assuming that social isolation automatically leads to feelings of anger and bitterness. Furthermore, when you referenced that Christmas has the highest reported levels of Christmas I have to warn you that correlation does not lead to causation. There may be several other confounding variables as to why there are a high level of reported cases of depression. Some may be because it’s cold or the trees are barren. None of which has to do with Christmas itself. I think that people do not hate Christmas because it is Christmas but because of the surrounding circumstances of the holiday. For example, I personally hate the cold and bareness of winter. This doesn’t mean that I’m grumpy during December because of Christmas. Overall, great post though really got me thinking. I hope you can find more reasons to either prove your claim or back mine up. Hope to read from you again.

3. I personally love Christmas! It is my favorite time of the year but I can see why some people hate the idea of it. I couldn’t imagine being by myself during a time that is centered around being with family and friends.
