I haven't been able to find much help on the internet, because I think my wireless card is trash anyways.

Anyways its so inconsistent, I should be getting 100 Mbps or more but I get somewhere between 10-40, and it's always low. BTW my internet is 5g. My brother's pc, who is further away from the router than I am, gets well over 100 Mbps! Only when I use my PC's wireless do I get such slow speeds, its frustrating when I lag when I play games. Sometimes I can get up to 70 to 80 but that's VERY RARE. My wireless card is a  Rosewill WiFi Adapter / Wireless Adapter / PCI-E Network Card, 802.11AC Dual Band AC1300 PCI Express Network Adapter, and I just think it's a heap of junk but I don't have money to buy a better wireless card, because all of the ones I've found that have good reviews are all close to or over $100

Also, I can't do ethernet 24/7 because if I do then the ethernet cable is in the middle of a hallway and it gets in the way.

Likely too much interference for good 5G reliability.

Brother could be using Wireless N (2.4G) and has much better reception to signals and speed.

I use Ethernet over Power (has its own interference issues as well) and it serves me well without wires.

Cable 100/40 and I see it all.

It may not be the card. Some of the things you can try...

Try changing the your card's settings.

    Try reseating your card.

Try your card in a different expansion slot.

Try reorienting the wireless router (the radio signal sent out is not a perfect sphere).

    Try reorienting your computer.

Try moving (temporarily) your computer to where your brothers computer is located.
