Why Does Naruto Have Whiskers On His Face? - TechNadu

A member of the Uzumaki clan famous for their humongous amounts of chakra and the most formidable "Sealing Jutsu," Naruto was never like any of the other kids in the Village Hidden in the Leaves. Naruto's whiskers are probably what sets him apart from any other person, at first glance, even as the show begins.
With the nine-tailed beast sealed inside of him, Naruto gained not only some powerful chakra and life-altering ninjutsu but also the most distinctive physical feature he has. However, if you've watched the show, you know that not all jinchuriki develop physical features as prominent as Naruto. So the question is, why was Naruto born with whisker marks around his face? Read on to find out.
How Did Naruto Get His Whiskers?
Naruto Uzumaki, who inherited the nine-tailed beast from his mother Kushina upon his birth, was born with whisker marks on his face. While most other jinchuriki do not develop such distinct features from their respective beasts, Naruto's case was a bit more complicated. Naruto's mother Kushina, also from the Uzumaki clan, was the original jinchuriki for the nine-tailed beast AKA Kurama.
Kushina, who fell in love with the Fourth Hokage Minato Namikaze as a young girl, married him when they grew up. While Kushina had the nine-tailed beast sealed inside of her, she happened to get pregnant with Naruto. This means that Naruto and Kurama's first interaction was inside Kushina's womb!
It seems that being in such close proximity with one of the strongest creatures in the world, Naruto took on some traits from the creature himself. This is why Naruto, upon his birth, had whisker marks on his face giving the character an animalistic quality.
Soon after his birth, the Kyuubi had to be sealed once more. However, Kushina's untimely death made things quite difficult for the Village Hidden in the Leaves. This led to Minato taking a drastic step and sealing the beast inside Naruto itself, and the rest is history.
