Imran Khan made his debut with the super hit film, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, in 2008. The kids who were born in the 2000s were extremely young to know him but the rest of us who love watching Hindi romantic comedies, we know that Imran Khan was our favourite at that time. 

The audience was crazy about Imran Khan and he had a lot of female fans in the late 2000s and early 2010s.

Imran Khan was quite a favourite back in the day and was liked by everyone for his different approach towards choosing movies. He stayed away from toxic roles and the characters he played in movies were also ones that made him relatable and a favourite amongst women. Here's why he was 'different'.

He Was Dreamy

Imran Khan fit the dream chocolate boy description perfectly. He was cute, chivalrous, and was very different from the rest of the actors at that time. He was the opposite of Ranbir Kapoor and women liked him more than Ranbir. They were both doing rom-coms but, Imran Khan somehow won.

Not Trying To Be The ‘Classic’ Hero

He wasn’t fighting 20 guys at once for the female protagonist but played the role of guys who could make those 20 guys not fight. He played characters that portrayed men in a way that women always expect them to be. They were mature, he didn’t play a man-child in any of his films and he listened to his woman.

His Films Were Different

His films were simple yet offbeat, keeping aside films like Kidnap and Luck, which were total disasters. 

But Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na was a great movie. Two best friends realizing that they are in love. It was a common plot but was made extremely relatable for our generation. The film was very progressive which our audience needed at that time. 

He also did a film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, alongside Katrina Kaif but the film was underrated; it was cute and showed how falling in love looks like. 

Now, he has quit acting and his fans miss him. Imran Khan told India Today, “I wanted to be a writer-director and wasn't that keen on acting anymore. I have always been a very private person anyway.”

In a Reddit AMA, the former actor had said that he found the Bollywood bubble to be very suffocating. 

He said, “It's not really a conscious effort. I'm genuinely not interested in most of the hoopla. I like my quiet, peaceful life, I like my old friends, I like my cats and dogs... Ideally, I'd just make movies and skip the rest of the media circus.”
