CLEVELAND, Ohio -- KFC has a new signature dipping sauce, just don’t ask for it by its old name.

KFC Sauce is now available at your local Kentucky Fried Chicken. The fast-food chain describes the new concoction as “tangy and sweet, with a bit of smokiness.”

“When we set out to create a new signature dipping sauce, we went right to the experts – our customers – to find out what made a sauce best-in-class for dipping,” says KFC chief marketing officer Andrea Zahumensky in a press release. “We went through 50 iterations, and their response to this recipe was overwhelming!”

KFC Sauce replaces the old recipe, known as Finger Lickin' Good Sauce. The company has stopped using its famous marketing slogan in the age of coronavirus when licking your fingers could be, well, risky.

“We find ourselves in a unique situation—having an iconic slogan that doesn’t quite fit in the current environment. While we are pausing the use of ‘It’s Finger Lickin’ Good,' rest assured the food craved by so many people around the world isn’t changing one bit,” KFC announced back in August.

The new sauce means chicken tender fans have five condiments to choose from: KFC Sauce, Classic Ranch, Honey BBQ, Honey Mustard and KFC Hot Sauce.

Or you can change your life by trying my own signature sauce recipe: one part ketchup, one part Worcestershire sauce. You’re welcome.
