Why You Need To Add Rosehip Oil To Your Skincare Routine
Maybe your like

One of my favorite things to do is fall down the rabbit hole of beauty products. For instance, I’ve been reading more and more about the different ingredients in the skincare products I swear by. One favorite of mine, Osmia Vital Nectar Rose Drops, features rosehip oil, so I started researching that. Turns out that there are tons of amazing benefit to this organic ingredient! Not only is it fab for the face skin, but it is also wonderful in hand creams, body lotions, and more. I’ve actually noticed a big difference in the brightness and texture of my skin, so I wanted to share more with you. Let’s dig into more of why you need to add Rosehip Oil to your skincare arsenal!
Rosehip Oil, My New Favorite Skincare Ingredient
What is rosehip oil?
To start, you might be wondering what rosehip oil actually is. Essentially, it is the oil that is produced from the seeds of wild rose bushes usually in Chile and South Africa. This balancing oil is packed with Vitamin A and Vitamin C, linoleic acid, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids. Traditionally, it is know as a dry oil because of it’s quick absorption.
When shopping for it, I suggest looking for products that are cold-pressed, sustainably-sourced, and organic so that you know you’re getting the best of the best.

The benefits of rosehip oil in skincare products:
There are so many benefits to rosehip oil either as an ingredient or as the only oil you use. Not only does it help to calm your skin, it also enhances the absorption of your other skincare products like serums and creams. And the GLOW! If my skin feels dull, I know that this oil will help perk me righ tup.
I don’t think we have nearlyyyy enough time to talk about just how good rosehip oil is for your skin, but here are a few key benefits:
- provides long lasting moisture and improves overall skin hydration.
- helps to promote a more youthful appearance and combats fine lines and wrinkles.
- tightens pores.
- repairs sun damage.
- reduces the appearance of scars, pigmentation, and age spots (I’ve found it works wonders on my old acne scarring).
- works well with many skin types.
- reduces inflammation.
- doesn’t leave behind an oily feel and absorbs quickly.
How to use rosehip oil
Because rosehip oil helps my other products absorb, I apply it after my serums and before my moisturizer. Right now I’m using Osmia Vital Nectar Rose Drops, which has other ingredients in it. This lightweight formula perfect for both day and night use, especially if I’m trying to encourage a scar to fade.
To apply, I put 3 drops on my palm and warm it up between my hands a bit. Then, I gently rub onto my face in circular motions. After that, I gently press it into my skin which I think helps it get absorbed even better. You can also simply add 3 drops of the oil to your moisturizer, mix that together, and apply it. Sometimes I do that in a pinch!
