His first album with Van Halen, titled ‘A Different Kind of Truth,’ was released in 2012. Since then, he has been an active member of the band and has also toured as part of the group multiple times. After a few guest appearances in Van Halen's 2004 tour, he became an official member of the band in 2006 when he replaced Michael Anthony as the bassist. Their eponymous band released their first album ‘All I Was’ in July that year.
