1883: Paramount Network release first look at new series

Yellowstone 1883 is the first of the Western drama spin-offs, originating from Yellowstone on Paramount Network. The prequel follows the ancestors of the Dutton family as they travel to find somewhere new to settle down. Unfortunately, Paramount+ subscribers weren't able to watch the latest episode as expected.

Yellowstone 1883 made its big debut before Christmas 2021 and has been received well by fans of the growing franchise.

The drama was last seen on Sunday, January 16, on Paramount+ but didn't return for episode six at the weekend.

Airing in its place was a behind-the-scenes special entitled The Road West.

This isn't the first time there has been a delay in new Yellowstone 1883 episodes either.

Episode four of the period drama also wasn't in its expected time slot earlier this month.

An official reason for the schedule shake-up hasn't been given but it may be because the streaming service wishes to keep the 10-episode series on screens for as long as possible.

Thankfully, it is believed that this will be the last delay of the series with Yellowstone 1883 continuing to air every Sunday from now on.

This means that fans can expect the Western drama to return this weekend.

Episode six of Yellowstone 1883 will be airing on Sunday, January 30, on Paramount+.

Following the shocking end to episode five, it is expected to be an upsetting one for fans.

Previously, Elsa Dutton (played by Isabela May) and Ennis (Eric Nelsen) had rekindled their romance.

Things were looking good for the pair with Ennis even sharing his plans to marry Elsa with her dad James Dutton (Tim McGraw).

So when Elsa was taken by a group of wild bandits, Ennis raced to her rescue.

However, this was the beginning of the end for him as during a showdown, Ennis was murdered by the bandits, leaving Elsa devastated.

A synopsis for episode six has since been released, giving fans more details on what's to come.

Episode six of Yellowstone 1883 is going to be called Boring the Devil.

The synopsis reads: "Shea helps Elsa cope with her loss.

"The group crosses another river and prepares to enter Indian territory. Thomas buys Noemi a gift."

Yellowstone 1883 is available to watch on Paramount+. A UK release date hasn't been announced.
