Your Guide To Parada Del Sol 2022 And Trail's End In Scottsdale

Parada del Sol is "Back in the Saddle" again this year after a hiatus in 2021 because of the pandemic.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Parada del Sol and the accompanying Trail's End Festival are back on again this year after a hiatus because of the pandemic in 2021. This year's fitting theme is "Back in the Saddle."

The parade and festival typically draw about 30,000 people to Scottsdale to celebrate the city's heritage and culture, according to the parade website.

The 68th annual parade is set to begin at 10 a.m. Saturday and to end around noon. The parade features more than 100 entries including floats, horse-riders, horse-drawn carriages, marching bands, wagons and stagecoaches, according to the city. Many cultures are represented, including Mexican, Native American and Western.

The parade route starts headed south on Drinkwater Boulevard to Scottsdale Road, heads right on 1st Street, then left on Marshall Way, turns east on Second Street and finishes headed north on Brown Avenue to Indian School Road.

The festival is set to immediately follow the parade from noon-4 p.m. in Old Town Scottsdale. The festival features entertainment on several stages including Ballet Folklorico Quetzalli, which celebrates Mexican folkloric dance; Saguaro High School Sabercats Marching Band and the Herndon Brothers, who play new and old country music.

The festival also features an area for kids, pony rides, various vendors and food sales.

If you're planning to attend the parade, festival or any other Western Week weekend events, be sure to check out the planned street closures ahead of time.

Other Western Week events

The Arizona Indian Festival is set for all day Saturday and Sunday at First Street and Brown Avenue in Old Town Scottsdale, featuring food and drinks, traditional performances and much more.

Free admission to Scottsdale’s Museum of the West from 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, at 3830 N. Marshall Way in Scottsdale.
