Jul 31, 2009 322 0 0 First, my search bar is on the fritz, so forgive me please if it's been up before :) In preparation for Mass Effect 2, I recently finished myself a 'perfect run through', with all my choices in it and my character just the way I want them. My Shepard is a male Vanguard, who makes decisions for the greater good (as far as he can tell), and as such is Paragon to the max On top of completing every mission in my game and finding all the minerals on the planets etc etc, my key decisions were: - Freed the Rachni queen so as to make myself a future ally. Hopefully she won't go homicidal like the other Rachni - Saved all the civilians fighting the Thorian - Dealt with the Shadow Broker (my Shep thinks it'll be a good way to earn his trust, and maybe expose him one day) - Garrus and Wrex were in my squad the whole time, and as such I've built a bond between us. This led to Shep talking Wrex down on Virmire, keeping him alive - Ash was my romance, and Shep was in love - On Virmire, I sent Ash with the Salarians as she was the soldier, and kept Kaidan (the techie) behind to deal with the bomb. However, on my way to save Ash, Kaidan needed my help, so I was forced to sacrifice Ash for the needs of the many by protecting the bomb. This has led to Shep being detached from the rest of the crew, making him afraid to form any attachments with the girls in ME2 (meaning he'll just be an emotionless playa, unless they can convince him otherwise) :( - The council was saved, and Anderson was appointed the representative. Partially because he's the better candidate, and also partly because he's easily persuaded by me :) What I want to know is, what did all you guys do? Did you create a persona for your Shep like I did? Do tell :) Pimppeter2

Apr 28, 2008 14,628 0 0 I did just play through as a female soldier, doing everything. But thats the only save I can really remember. First I have to try and remember what I did during my games. They're combinations of good/bad, soldier/adept/engineer saves with some of them having done everything in the galaxy, and 1 where I just rushed through. And a few in between doing everything and doing nothing. I played through like 7 times. Its going to be a suprise, thats for sure. P

I did all those. I chose Liara. I hated Ashley, and let her die. I was kinda harsh with Conrad Verner, and now I wish I hadn't been. Onyx Oblivion

This is what I did as well. It was funny with my friend watching because he killed the Queen because they are bad or something, but I told him that chances are that they will come back as an ally in the sequels if you save them. So I saved the Rachni Queen, killed majority of the innocent people under the Thorian's control and didn't realise you could deal with the Shadow Broker (perhaps I need to play through the game again). At the start of the game I used Kaiden and Ashley, then I used Ashley and Garrus, then I finally settled with Ashley and Wrex. I managed to talk Wrex down so he survived. I let Ashley live because she was always a part of my squad and was pretty useful in my opinion (my friend reckons I let her live so I could see the sex scene later on >.>). The Council were killed and I voted Captain Anderson as the new leader of The Council. E

Jan 11, 2010 3 0 0 I think I'll do my first play through with my Vanguard mostly Paragon character, who who saved the Rachni Queen (I'm hoping she keeps her promise of not going homicidal *crosses fingers*), and accidentally killed most of the innocent people under the Thorian's control (somehow I screwed up and it wouldn't let me throw anymore of the grenades, oops?). Romanced Kaidan, talked down Wrex on Virmire, and sacrificed Ashley (I had Kaidan rig the bomb on Virmire, and Ashley go with the Salarians). Before Virmire I had Ashley and Kaidan in my squad, and after Virmire I went with Kaidan and alternated between Garrus and Wrex for the remaining missions. Accidentally killed the council (I picked the neutral option, which was to take down Sovreign first and foremost, and then try to save the council afterward, which obviously didn't work out so well) and then named Captain Anderson as the new leader of the Council. I didn't know you could deal with the Shadow Broker, I'll have to try that during my next play through :) So excited for next Tuesday!!! MiracleOfSound

I suspect you are looking for a Medal, but all I have is this sticker. *pins it on Ghonzor's shirt and gives him a thumbs up* Good for you! Now I actually JUST finished my final playthrough of Mass Effect 1 not 30 minutes ago. I let the council die, let Kaidan die(he seemed to have so little personality to me...) I chose Ashley, what can I say? I like spunk, and she's got a lot of it. I also did the missions from ME1 that involved cerberus... which I think will come into play in ME2, at least I'm hoping. I didn't hand the information over. I was firm but nice to Conrad, and I chose Captain Anderson as the human representative, because he rawkzorz. Also, the clip with Thane shows him Killing Nassana Dantius, so I did her mission as well, as it will probably have some effect. Ganthrinor

May 16, 2008 6,976 0 0 Typically "Greater Good" implies that you do evil things, not good things. as for my "perfect save", it's a level 60 soldier, vanderloo-shep, pure Paragon, all UNC missions done except for a couple of the collection missions. EDIT: Oh, and I also killed Wrex... but I did it in such a way that it was still a paragon choice, even though I had done his armor quest and had the intimidate/charm to save him easily. If you're Short with him, and tell him to step into line at first, you can take a couple choices until Ashley will kill Wrex for you. Then you can admonish her for doing it. Wrex isn't a playable character, so I wanted to see if there's some reference to him in ME2 if he's dead already. ExaltedK9

I pretty much did this...except I saved Ash, iced the Rachni, and never went anywhere near the shadow broker. Oh and I also <3 Wrex. Internet Kraken

Mar 18, 2009 6,915 0 0 My Shepard is a Male Engineer, who like most of my character is always make the good choices and doesn't try to hurt anyone (but since this is a video game I kill people all the time). -I Freed the Rachni Queen, because genocide is bad. -Saved all Civilians from the Thorian, because I find it to be easier to knock them out with grenades than to just shoot them. -Told the Shadow Broker to piss off, which I'm probably going to regret. -I also used Garrus and Wrex. I managed to talk down Wrex on Virmire, and I convinced Garrus to rejoin C-Sex and reapply for Spectre training. -I didn't have a romance. I dislike Romances in video games. I feel that they are never done right. -I kill Ashley on Virmire. I actually felt kinda guilty about it because I only killed her out of habit. On all my earlier playthroughs I never gave a damn about Ashley so that decision was always easy for me. But this time i actually bothered to learn her backstory, and she isn't nearly as bad a character as I thought she was. I only decided to kill her because I had killed her so many times before. -I saved the Council and recommended Udina for the Council. Captain Anderson may be nice, but he is no politician.

Dammit. That's the one mission I forgot to complete in my most recent playthrough. I forgot to give her the datapad while I was on the Citadel.

Ashley isn't really a racist. And Tali is utterly unremarkable. I tried talking to her as much as possible, and the only interesting things she says are related to Quarians in general, rather than her own personal backstory. JeanLuc761

Sep 22, 2009 1,479 0 0 Just finished doing this earlier today actually! Here's my setup for Mass Effect 2: - Level 60 soldier, maxxed out on Paragon with slight renegade edge. - Killed the Rachni queen (which, in retrospect, I may regret). - Saved Zhu's hope - Completed 95% of all missions - Finished all collections - Allowed Wrex to live - Sacrificed Kaiden - Refused to develop any romance (Ashley's a racist and Liara's a snob. Waiting for Tali because she's so damn adorable.) - Saved the council and appointed Anderson to the position. Alanosborn1991

Jul 17, 2009 56 0 0 Just beat the game for a 2nd time and got my lvl 60 -I am the cover art male Shephard -Learned Ashley and Kaiden's backstorys -Nice to everyone on Citadel -Let Wrex kill Fist only to tell him that was bad lol -Did every planet quest -Saved Rachni Queen so she could be future ally and to not be a genocidal idiot (hopefully lol) -Spared everyone from the Thorian with Gas Grenades except the shopkeeper cause I have bad aim with grenades lol -Was nice to Ashley and Liara but when they got into a cat fight I chose Ashley only to make her get nuked so I can have a love interest in ME2. -Got Wrex's armor -Found Garrus's doctor he was looking for -Gave files to Shadow Broker so he could be an ally or expose himself to me for justice -Saved Council -Elected Anderson to Council -Made Saren commit suicide -Had either Kaiden,Garrus, Tali in my party at all times (Wrex is cool but meh, Liara is stupid and Ashley is a racist) (Kaiden is a Lieutenant and voices Carth Onasis so hes cool) (Garrus is basically Price from MW2, "Just like old times Shephard") (Tali is hot, can hack stuff for me, keep Mako alive and has knowledge of Geth) Yup that pretty much sums it all up lol =D Poomanchu745

Sep 11, 2009 1,582 0 0 I played through pretty much exactly how I wanted with my 1st playthrough. However with my 2nd (adept) which I really want to play in ME2 first because adepts look badass I kinda screwed up. I killed the queen which i regret now and didn't get him very many levels because I just mainly did the main quest as I was rushing to make sure I was done with the game before the ME2 dropped. I wish I had taken a little more time and saved the queen. Ghonzor

Why do PS3 fans feel they have to put their two cents into a thread about a 360 exclusive? Back on topic: neither of those activities are any fun. I mean, waiting around for 2 hours on your PS3 to download and install a patch, then going to the DMV and waiting around to renew your driver's license? Sounds like you had a shitty day. That "it was good" comment must have been sarcastic. My condolences. Click to expand...
I do not see a reason why players of the Xbox 360 (I hesitate to use "fanboy" though it seems appropriate here) are so hostile. Even if I had a 360, I would not be playing, or hoping for, Mass Effect 2. Last I checked, there was no lock on threads such as this stating that one must own a 360 to partake in the shenanigans contained within. gigastrike
