Who is Zenitsu?[]

Agatsuma Zenitsu is a mini-boss in Demonfall that uses Thunder Breathing. Demons can get a quest for executing him, however Slayers can still kill him and get exp. This mini-boss has 350 HP and gives 300 XP upon execution, and respawns fast just like the Green Demon and Axe Demon. He has the Thunder Nichirin, so he does 12 damage for light attacks/M1s. Zenitsu will lock on and attack any player that enters his range, no matter if they are a Slayer or a Demon. However, he will not attack Demon NPC's.

It is recommended to take him on in a group, but if you prefer to do it solo if you know and memorize his patterns well, go ahead. Zenitsu's speed increases as his HP gets lower, it is highly recommended to bait him by using a knocked down player. Zenitsu will put more priority on the knocked player rather than the players who are alive, or bait him to using his skills before rushing to him and attack him(if you prefer solo). The one who is closest to Zenitsu will get targeted, either you or your teammate. Zenitsu's respawn time is around a minute. Zenitsu is located north-east of Okuiya Village. Follow the right path of Sakura Passage from Okuyia Village, arriving near the open field where Zenitsu spawns.

Moveset[]

Zenitsu will use two moves from Thunder Breathing: Thunderclap and Flash, and Thunder Swarm.

• First Form: Thunderclap & Flash - After a short cast delay, the user dashes towards their opponent at blinding speeds and hits them way before they could even react. (Guard Break) (10 Damage)
• Third Form: Thunder Swarm - The user instantaneously dashes and hits their opponent multiple times, surrounding them with swarms of deadly slashes infused with electricity. You can't dash out of this move, but if you use a move like/such as the third insect move (fourth form: dance of the centipede), you can move out of it. (Blockable) (Combo starter) (15 Damage)

Attack Strategy[]

Note: Like most bosses, Zenitsu cannot be parried, but he can parry your attacks.

• The recommended strategy to farm Zenitsu is to avoid his Thunderclap and Flash skill by either moving diagonally away from him or double jumping and dashing past him mid-air (dash mastery will make it easier). Bait his Thunderclap & Flash out and be sure to use projectiles after he uses this.

• If possible, you can alternatively press C to rush towards him right as he uses the flash skill for a free combo. (Requires unlocking Rush in the Skill Tree)
• Don't give Zenitsu time to react and use his other Thunder Breathing skills. Kill him slowly with projectiles and punishes. If you get locked into his other move, be sure to dash backwards as soon as it ends.
• If you are a slayer, Lunge is critical for getting damage on Zenitsu. You can hit him without triggering Thunder Swarm (most of the time) which will allow you to solo the boss for easy XP. If you're lucky enough, you could cancel his Thunderclap and Flash with a Lunge.

Additional Tips:[]

• Any passive damage such as Burn, Bleeding or Poison will also deal damage over time, significantly increased with Rengoku family for Flame.
• Long-ranged moves are useful, as you can hit Zenitsu without him hitting you(e.g Flame Bend, Water Wheel, Gale Slash, Thunderclap and Flash, etc.)
• Use combos. Combos will deal more damage then just M1 spam and will let you combo extend. If you have a chance to use a combo extender move, use it. After finishing your combo you want to get away from him as soon as possible or he WILL thunder swarm you.
• Try to always go to his left as he misses there most of the time even when you walk around him
• Try to stick with AOE and range moves while fighting Zenitsu.
• As of right now, Zenitsu's execution animation lasts a few seconds after the animation visually finishes
• Like most bosses, you can use the “Rui method” aka “Down method”, but it is recommended to not do this because of Zenitsu’s thunder swarm.

Trivia[]

• Zenitsu will not attack the demons around him.
• You can dash sideways or double jump above his Thunderclap and Flash move to avoid it, however it must be done precisely.
• Despite being based on his season 1 appearance, Zenitsu is awake, despite being unable to fight while awake until some of the later arcs.
• In canon, Zenitsu cannot use Thunder Swarm or any other Thunder Breathing forms. Instead he can only do Thunderclap and Flash and Sixfold (Six Roku). He can also do other versions of Thunderclap and Flash such as Eightfold and Godspeed, as well as his own personally created form: Honoikazuchi no Kami in later arcs.
