I've done multiple attemps averaging 6.1 seconds. I'm concerned that maybe there is something wrong with the car. I realize this is kinda a stupid post but I was wondering if anyone knows a real 0-60 time in an auto-trans c5. Mine is a 01 with 70k miles. Just got it a few weeks ago. Anyways I am hitting it as hard as I can from take off. The published 0-60 time for an automatic coupe was 5.0 I'm not 100% sure but I believe that was for the 3.15 performance axle and 5.2 was for the standard 2.73 axle. I know 4.5 was for 6speed coupes. oP there are so many different factors that would affect that now road condition, condition of tires, trans, state of tune etc and if you had the traction control on or off. My 77kmi 01 felt like a dog when I first bought it especially compared to my modded 99', a quick change of plugs, wires and some throttle body and mass air cleaning made a HUGE difference in the power it was hiding. Also it's not uncommon for there to be 0.5 second or so difference between measurements taken with different cars/drivers/surfaces or even from one day to the next. And if the word "stopwatch" appears anywhere in the description of how the times are measured, all bets are off. I'm not up on the current tech the factory and magazines use to measure such things...presumably it's better than the 5th-wheel recorders they used in the past. Trying to replicate those numbers with any kind of manual measurement is an exercise in frustration. I have a 98' coupe with an A4, 3:15 rear end. My mods (the ones pertinent to this thread) are: LS6 intake, Kooks LT headers, X pipe, and axle back. I have a Yank SS 3400 stall TQ converter installed. I'm running Sumitomo 275/40/18's on the rear. The day I did my runs was about 35 degrees, but dry weather. I have about 100 pounds of extra weight in the car, between the sound deadening material, amplifiers, subwoofer, and wiring. I have about 20 pounds of extra weight in the car between my shoulders and my ***. I had 3/4 tank of gas when I started, less when I finished. I had a laptop hooked up to the car to data log with HP Tuners. I also have a WB o2 sensor installed. I did two runs, immediately back-to-back. When reviewing the data log on HP Tuners, I saw that; The first run I did logged 5.2 seconds. The second run I logged 5.0 seconds. On both runs, I hesitated at the 6000 RPM mark to let the car shift to second.....I just don't like to rev the engine that high. It's almost fast enough for me.....for now. I can drive pretty well [much drag racing time] so times may vary with different drivers. P.S. I was manually shifting the car [automatic] at 5600 rpm's to get the best times. We used to call that "short shifting" and believe it or not many times it will produce quicker times! Last edited by C5Wolfe; Jan 24, 2015 at 11:51 AM. Only mod it has is straight pipes and all the performance stuff from factory like the Z51 package and such. It also depends a lot on where you live you have to remember these are NA engines so climate plays a big role with these cars like me I live on the east coast pretty close to sea level so my numbers are gonna be higher than someone who lives in Colorado for example. But also spark plugs, tires and things of that nature affect those times as well. Reply 0 0
