razvandvl R Hi everybody I have a 06 Jetta with a 1.9 TDi 101hp and I think the alternator failed The battery light came on the other night and in the morning wouldn’t start. So I jump started it, all went fine and took it for a spin but all the lights dash lights etc came off, no power steering and barely some brakes. Question is what type of alternator ca I buy, can I get it from golf, audi etc? Should I look for a serial number? The only alternators we will fit are genuine Bosch exchange units. #3 · Jan 22, 2022 Apologise for late reply Vin no is WVWZZZ1KZ6M821654 reg no is AD06OAB We changed the battery and started straight away, had it tested with an alternator tester and its shown as dead. Problem is the intercooler pipe is in the way… #4 · Jan 22, 2022 The steering is electric so I can see the connection but the brakes? Doesn’t add up, possibly some loss of vacuum in the servo system but that is mechanically driven as well. Insert Quotes Post Reply
