Thу Organizational Development Specialist serves on the Learning and Development team in the Central Human Resources Office and is located at the Medical Campus. This position supports HR-sponsored certification and professional development programs in the areas of curriculum development/maintenance, facilitation, and analytics. Additionally, this position will provide support for our New Employee Orientation and program logistics as required. This position reports to the Director of Learning and Development.

Duties & Responsibilities 5

  • Responsible for managing the Manager Certification Program including monitoring Canvas program assignments, interfacing with participants, curriculum updates, facilitating cohort Zoom or in-person mentoring sessions, and handling specialized team cohorts as requested.
  • Responsible for managing new HR-sponsored certification programs such as the HR professional track – lead focus groups, determine curriculum needs, and work with SMEs and the Director of Learning and Development to create and facilitate the program.
  • Develop and conduct train-the-trainer sessions as needed for programs.
  • Perform skill gap analysis to determine courses that can be added to existing offerings to meet business needs.
  • Provides training and assistance to Medical Campus schools/colleges/departments on processes regarding training registration and what training programs are offered.
  • Works with Learning and Development Director, Systems Learning and Development staff, and SMEs to determine program updates both for in-person and online courses.
    • Works with the Director of Learning and Development to solicit feedback on new training needs.
    • Facilitates Zoom and in-person training for courses such as Crucial Conversations, Crucial Accountability, and Franklin Covey courses.
    • Develop and facilitate custom courses as required for Medical Campus schools/colleges/departments. This would also include coaching for individual team members of custom courses.

Requirements & Skills 5

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, higher education administration, human resources, organizational development, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
    • Six years of experience which included managing training programs, curriculum design, and course facilitation.
    • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.
    • The position requires extensive, diverse, and progressively responsible experience, including direct responsibility for learning and development/organizational development functions.
