    Anyhow, the Honda 750/4 was (& the new Honda CB/4 is) an anodyne appliance – as a motorcycle. While convenient & generally bland, in the UJM style, with a boring buzzy feel rather than being really smooth, or characterful, the original Honda 4 quickly became a bit blase’..

    No capable rider with a sharp tuned Trident, Commando, or Kawasaki triple feared the Honda at any stoplight, or when running a canyon road hard & fast, ( nor would even an RD 350 rider, there).

    Read the epic December 1972 Cycle Mag ‘Superbike’ showdown for contemporary confirmation. & Honda themselves then went to the strange Gold-Wing as their motorcycle flagship..
