Have your car towed to a dealer and have your keys adapted to your car. How much of a theft deterrent would the immobilizer be if anyone could adapt a new key to your car and drive away? http://www.myturbodiesel.com/wiki/key-and-remote-replacement-repair-faq-for-mk5-mk6-vw/ #3 · Oct 19, 2017 (Edited) problem solved. Problem: When turning key to the on position "Safe" appears on the dashboard, and the car will not stay started because of not reading the key chip properly. It will start for one second then immediately turn off. (Immobilizer issue) On top of this there was another issue. The car battery was weak which added to the difficulty diagnosing the problem. Solved: To take car out of "safe" mode and allow the key chip to read properly so the car will start - do the following. If the car battery is low it must be charged. If the car battery doesn't have enough charge the problem can not be resolved. Therefore with either a charged battery or while charging the battery with a battery charger, turn the key to the on position. Do Not Start. Leave in the on position. Wait 10 to 15 minutes to allow the chip to be read automatically. Safe will no longer show on the dashboard. (If charging car battery remove charging cables before next step). Turn key to off position. Then to the start position to start the vehicle. This solved my issue. #7 · Dec 21, 2020 Ralph man, I can't say thank you enough. Same thing happened this weekend, and son of a bitch your fix worked 🍻 Cheers and thank you again man, save me a hell of alot of agrivation and annoyance!! Hope you get this, merry Christmas 🎅 0 Reply #4 · Oct 19, 2017 Awesome, you learn something new every day. Battery chargers have an auto set circuit breaker and it will just trip when you hit the starter. If the C/B didn't work like it is suppose to, when you went to start it sure would destroy the charger. Had the new keys already been adapted to the car? #5 · Oct 19, 2017 (Edited by Moderator)

No. I left well enough alone. Only the original key works. I will have to bring to dealer for that. I'm just glad I can drive it there. #6 · Feb 1, 2018 Recently I lost my 01 VW Jetta 2.0l key so what I did was I replaced he cylinder key lock and put one from a 2001 VW Jetta vr6 that had with the key and I replaced the computer as well or the ecm and once I went to try and turn it on the immbolizer light came on and doesn’t want to turn on... Any help what I could do ? #8 · Apr 19, 2021 (Edited) I have an '03 1.8T Q with the 5-speed Tip. Since I got the car last August, it's periodically had issues starting. To be specific, it will display "SAFE" down below the tripometer every so often. Because of this, I always have to put the key into the accessory position to see whether or not it's in safe mode before I attempt to start it. Sometimes the car will go weeks with no issues, and sometimes it's every day, with me inserting and removing the key multiple times before it will give me a clean start. forpc.onl jiofi local html #9 · Mar 11, 2022 (Edited) You can use the seek buttons to go back and forth between the digits. If you see “2 Safe Code,” then the incorrect safe code has been entered twice. You'll need to wait an hour before you can enter the code again. After the proper code is entered, your radio will be unlocked and fully functional. vidmate app download insta save Insert Quotes Post Reply
