It did look like the one gasket melted some
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk #3 · Jun 13, 2015 Hi Danny, The EGR valve looks "relatively" clean, imo. However, you can give a one over with gasoline, clean the insides and the bottom part as well (there is a small hole to which connects the metal pipe coming from the turbo. There tends to be carbon build up as well. You might also want to take of your turbo exhaust manifold off and check it for carbon build up. I did that one on my 99 Bora a few ears back and the manifold was almost completely clogged. If all of the above has been done or is clean - you might want to trace back the hoses from you EGR valve and see what solenoid/valve they connect, then replace them and give it a try. Those were my two cents and I hope they come to be of some use. Best of luck! #4 · Jul 19, 2015 Hi Denny I have same problem and my EGR valve looked same as yours, I cleaned and it didn't fix the problem. Just change the EGR filter and reset the codes, old filter was clogged and two screws on the flange where missing. don't seems to be a lots of soot on it. My DPF was changed at 66k under warranty now I have 118k and have to get inspected in NY. hope it will last for a while I will try to clean old RGR filter supposedly it is only mash screen inside so maybe soaking it in naphtha will dissolve the staff or baking it in the oven? any thoughts? I'm waiting now for readiness codes to clear and will try inspection. #5 · Jul 21, 2015 So after changing your egr filter you're not sure if the codes cleared yet? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk #6 · Jul 21, 2015 Is there soot in your tailpipes now? If so, you probably have a cracked DPF... #7 · Jul 21, 2015 The code did not come back and EGR passed readiness test, I'm waiting for readiness tests to clear, I have 3 left but will pass inspection with 2 not cleared. the filter has soot in it but I don't see much in the exhaust pipe. Dealer have told me that ash load is low in the DPF. but I need to fine some one with VCDS to make shore. I t seems to regenerate normally. The old filter is clogged, and body has any suggestions how to clean it? I think we should use the DPF's as long as it is possible for economic reasons even if it is cracked. It was not that hard to change the EGR filter. Artur #8 · Jul 22, 2015 All my readiness checks are clear except for one:" NOx/SCR after treatment", is this related to my car? I don't have "add blue system". I'm checking it with OBD Auto Doctor app. Tomorrow I'm going for inspection. #9 · Jul 24, 2015 passed NY inspection with ease.. Insert Quotes Post Reply - ?
