If I am transferring funds to a foreign currency account, where can I check the exchange rate?
For 'Pay and transfer' transactions:
Under the 'Pay and transfer' page, the exchange rate will be shown in the 'Rate' field after you've finished filling in the 'From' and/or 'To' foreign currency account details.
Note: The exchange rate shown is applicable for a limited time only. You have to refresh the page for a new rate once the quoted exchange rate expires.
For recurring or future dated transactions:
For recurring or future dated transactions: You can check the exchange rate from your debit account transaction history after the transaction has been executed.
Can I transfer foreign currencies at any time of the day?
Yes, you can transfer foreign currencies at any time.
However, any future dated/recurring transfers scheduled on a non-working day will be executed on the next working day, using the exchange rate prevalent on that working day.
Why are some of my accounts not available in the 'From' and 'To' list when I'm making a transfer?
When making a transfer, you'll only be able to select active accounts. If a particular account is not available, the account is likely to be dormant, so please call our Contact Centre or visit your nearest branch to reactivate the account.
Do I require a security code (6-digit code generated from my Mobile Security Key) to transfer funds to my beneficiaries saved previously?
No, you don't need a security code to transfer funds to your saved beneficiaries.
What is my maximum transfer limit per day for 24/7 Foreign currency conversion?
There are no maximum limits to fund transfers of the same currency.
For cross-currency fund transfers, the following limits apply:
Fund transfers between my own accounts:
Each respective transfer you make between your own accounts is limited to RM3 million. If you'd like to transfer more than RM3 million, you can split it into multiple transfers.
Fund transfers to other HSBC/HSBC Amanah account:
The limit is RM100,000 per day.
How do I change the transfer limit?
To change the ‘Own account’ transfer limit, go to:
'Services' -> 'Tools & Services' -> 'Change your online banking limits' → 'Own account transfers'.
To change the ‘Telegraphic’ transfer limit, go to:
'Services' -> 'Tools & Services' → 'Change your online banking limits' -> 'Telegraphic transfer'.
