Do you need to sign out of WhatsApp? If you're using WhatsApp on desktop, you can easily log out with a few clicks. However, if you're using the app on Android or iPhone, there is no "Log Out" option. You'll need delete the app's data or the app itself if you no longer want to receive phone calls or texts from the WhatsApp app. This wikiHow will show you how to sign out from WhatsApp on a computer, Android, or iOS device.
Logging Out of WhatsApp: Quick Steps
To log out on desktop, go to Settings > Account > Log Out.
You can't log out of the mobile app. Instead, you'll need to delete the app and associated data from your device.
Before deleting WhatsApp from your mobile device, back up your messages to preserve your chat history.
Go to ⋮/Settings > Linked Devices > Log out on your mobile app to log out of active sessions on all your other linked devices.

1 Open WhatsApp on your mobile device. It’s the green chat bubble icon on your home screen or in the app drawer (Android).
Use this method to sign yourself out of the desktop or web version of WhatsApp when you’re not in front of the computer. You need to be using your primary phone for this to work.[1]XResearch source

3 Tap Linked Devices. This will be next to an icon of a laptop.[2]XResearch source
4 Tap your browser or device. If you used Google Chrome on a Windows computer to access the web version of WhatsApp, you'll see Google Chrome (Windows). Select the device you want to log out.[3]XResearch source

You will be logged out of WhatsApp on your computer. Any active sessions will close.

2 Back up your data. Because WhatsApp has no built-in Log Out button, you’ll have to sign out by deleting the app’s data from your device. To make sure you don’t lose your chats, you'll need to back them up to your Google Drive.

3 Open the Settings app. This looks like a cog icon located on your home screen or in the App Drawer.
Alternatively, swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Quick Settings panel and tap the gear icon.
4 Tap Apps. You can find this underneath the Devices header.
5 Scroll down and tap WhatsApp. The apps are listed in alphabetical order, so you may have to scroll down quite a bit.
6 Tap Storage. If you don’t see a Storage option but see a button that says “Clear Data,” skip to the next step.
7 Tap Clear Cache. This can usually be found next to Clear Data.
Clearing the app's cache will delete the temporary data and content stored in your device.
8 Tap Clear Data. This will delete the WhatsApp app. If you see a confirmation message asking if you want to delete the app’s settings and files, tap OK. Otherwise, just skip to the next step.
9 Open WhatsApp. It will open to the sign-in screen, indicating that you’ve been logged out.
When you want to sign back in, open WhatsApp and enter your username and password. You’ll be prompted to restore from the backup you made.
If you linked devices so you can log in to use WhatsApp online, you can log out of those sessions. In that case, open WhatsApp and go to ⋮ > Linked Devices > Tap a device > Log out.

3 Exit WhatsApp. Depending on where the app is located, you'll need to return to your homepage or App Library.

If you cannot delete the app, it may be due to screen time restrictions on your iPhone.
7 Download WhatsApp when you want to sign back in. You can do this by searching for “WhatsApp” in the App Store and tapping the cloud icon when it appears in your search results.
Upon signing back in, you’ll be prompted to tap Restore to restore your chat data. This will retrieve all your past messages.
