  Exciting news from our portfolio company Scandlines which has signed an agreement for Gebr. Heinemann to operate and develop the company’s two BorderShops and six onboard stores for the next 10 years.   This partnership will give Scandlines' customers and passengers an even better shopping and travel experience in the future as the BorderShops and onboard stores will benefit from Gebr. Heinemann's extensive experience, international network and operational expertise.

  A milestone partnership – paving the way for the future 🤝 We are proud to announce that we have signed a new, long-term concession partnership agreement with Gebr. Heinemann, one of the world’s leading players in travel retail. Under the agreement, Gebr. Heinemann will operate and further develop our two BorderShops in Puttgarden and Rostock, as well as six Travel Shops onboard our ferries, as part of a 10-year partnership. “This is a major milestone in Scandlines’ history. We are deeply committed to continuously delivering the best possible travel experience with Scandlines and this partnership will take our customers’ shopping and travel experience to an even higher level,” says Eric Grégoire, CEO at Scandlines. We look forward to the next chapter together. The agreement is subject to regulatory approvals.

  Congratulations to our portfolio company Evernex which has marked a major milestone with the opening of its new North American Headquarters and Technology Center in Alpharetta, Georgia. As the fastest-growing third-party maintenance (TPM) provider in North America, the facility represents a significant step in Evernex’s global growth strategy. The new location significantly expands operational capacity, reinforces Evernex’s commitment to infrastructure resilience, sustainability, and local investment, and acts as a centralised hub for all North American logistics, engineering, testing, and IT asset disposition.

  We're excited to be supporting the rollout of the Reading Mentor programmes across a range of primary schools by Lads Need Dads. The charity does great work in combining improving literacy skills in young boys with providing a positive male role model to advise and support in other areas of their lives.

  📚 We’ve just launched another round of our Reading Mentor programmes in selected primary schools in Colchester, Tendring and Basildon. This would not be possible without the generosity of 3i Group plc to whom we are very grateful 🙏 The Reading Mentor programme pairs trained male volunteers from the local community with Year 5 or 6 boys who may not have a father figure or consistent male influence. Over 12 weeks, these boys benefit from weekly one-to-one sessions in school, where reading becomes more than literacy practice - it becomes a space for connection, support and growth. Boys in the UK continue to fall behind girls in reading ability throughout their school life and research shows this gap is persistent and widening. For boys without a consistent father figure or positive male role model at home, this challenge can be even greater, with no male modelling reading at home or even in some cases, at school. That’s why our Reading Mentor programme offers more than an opportunity to be read to - it pairs each boy with a trained male volunteer mentor who provides: ✨ Role modelling: Boys experience positive male role models who show that reading is enjoyable, valuable and not just “school work”. ✨ Emotional literacy: Sessions include check-ins and conversations about emotions, helping boys express and understand their feelings. ✨ Holistic development: Beyond reading skills, the programme nurtures confidence, self-esteem, communication skills and empathy - essential life skills that support wellbeing. ✨ Family support: Parents and carers receive weekly updates and can talk through progress or any concerns with our family support worker. This isn’t just about improving literacy - it’s about giving boys a safe, consistent adult who listens, plays and builds trust, helping them grow in resilience, emotional regulation and belief in themselves. It also creates a safe early-intervention space where emerging safeguarding concerns can be noticed and responded to.   Our portfolio company Action has launched the Living Income and Child Wellbeing Programme for cocoa in Côte d’Ivoire together with Fairtrade International.   This makes Action the first international non-food retailer to implement a living income approach across its European private label chocolate assortment.

  𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 We’re excited to announce that, together with Fairtrade International, we’ve started implementing the Living Income and Child Wellbeing Programme for cocoa in Côte d’Ivoire. This long-term programme supports cocoa farmers towards a living income and strengthens child wellbeing in cocoa-growing communities. In addition to the annual Fairtrade Premium, Action is investing an extra minimum €1 million per year, growing with increasing chocolate sales, in the programme while absorbing all additional costs, so consumer prices are not affected. This makes Action the first international non-food retailer to implement a living income approach across its European private label chocolate assortment. The initiative builds on our commitment to source 100% Fairtrade certified cocoa for all own-brand and white label chocolate products across Europe, reflecting our formula of offering the same product assortment in every market. Proud to take this next step with Fairtrade International towards more sustainable cocoa production.
