  Thank you to our London staff for donating their pre-loved children’s books - we’ve collected over 70 books over the past two weeks which we’ll be donating to Children's Book Project.   This is the second time we’ve run a book drive in conjunction with our charity partner Bookmark Reading Charity which does such great work in improving literacy in young children.   Currently 1 in 7 primary schools in the UK does not have a designated reading space, rising to 1 in 6 in disadvantaged communities, and 1 in 4 children leave primary school unable to read well.   By encouraging our staff to donate their pre-loved books, we are delighted to play a small part in helping address this issue and inspire reading in children.

He also highlights the importance of backing essential businesses with bipartisan support - helping insulate portfolios from sudden policy shifts.   Fantastic news for our portfolio company ESP Utilities Group Ltd which has been appointed by Universal Destinations & Experiences to design, build and operate significant new community infrastructure in Bedford to support their new entertainment resort complex. The infrastructure will include a new water treatment facility, a new primary substation, an all-electric energy plant and low-carbon transport, including one of the UK’s largest EV charging facilities for visitors to the Universal resort.

  Earlier this week, we hosted our 3i CTO webinar focused on cyber security, bringing together c.30 technology leaders from across our Private Equity and Infrastructure portfolios.   The discussion centred on the reality of modern cyber risk, the increasingly sophisticated threats, the operational impact of incidents as well as some of the more positive recent trends, for example the savings from Security AI and automation as well as an increase in breaches being detected internally. CTOs shared recent first-hand experiences, practical mitigation strategies and lessons learned in strengthening resilience. We also reflected on feedback and emerging trends from recent cyber workshops held across the portfolio, highlighting a continued focus on governance, employee awareness and third-party risk management.   Thank you to all participants for an open and highly constructive discussion.

With more than 1.4 million monthly users, Listonic is one of the most widely used smart shopping apps in the country. This year, its community voted Action in Poland as the number one retailer in the nonfood discount category with 66% of all votes. This is the third consecutive year that Action in Poland has been ranked number one. It is a strong recognition of the ongoing commitment and hard work of our teams across the country. A big thank you to all our colleagues in stores, distribution centres and offices in Poland and to our customers for their continued trust and support.
