3M™ VHB™ Tape 5981-020 is a 0.20 mm acrylic foam tape with a PET carrier to provide stability for precise die-cutting of narrow bond lines. The carrier also aids clean removal, making rework easier when necessary. It has great drop resistance and excellent anti-lifting characteristics to help adhere to curved designs along with good conformability and sealing to help keep water out of electronics.

Enable the Next Generation of Design 3M™ VHB™ Tape 5981-020 is engineered to enable narrow bond lines and clean reworkability for glass, display, battery and bezel bonding in electronics. In addition to being a tough acrylic foam tape with anti-lift properties that help it hold on curved surfaces, this tape also features a polyester (PET) carrier. The carrier provides stability for precise die cutting to create very narrow bond lines as well as helping the tape remove cleanly and in one piece if an assembly needs to be reworked. As part of the 3M™ VHB™ family this tape delivers great drop resistance to reduce cracking as well as conformability and permanent sealing against moisture and other contaminants to help keep electronic devices intact and waterproof. 3M™ VHB™ Tape 5981-020 has good push-out strength.
