To volunteer with 4-H at the Hopkinton Fair, please contact the Merrimack County Cooperative Extension Office at (603) 255-3556.

4-H and the Hopkinton Fair is a long-standing tradition the organizations are proud to support for over 125 years! 4-H seeks to help youth ages 8 to 18 acquire knowledge, develop life skills, and form attitudes that help them become self-directed, productive, contributing members of society, through hands-on learning experiences. The Hopkinton Fair is a time for youth to showcase their hard work from the past year and educate the public about their work in agriculture. 4-H members can enter exhibits in the 4-H exhibit hall, show their animals, and partake in a variety of volunteer opportunities.

Not a 4-H member but want to participate? Follow these steps to become a “4-Her for the fair”.

• Register for the animal show with Fair Entry log-in with the 4-HOnline credentials you created (email & password you just used to create your 4HOnline account).

NH 4-H Livestock Show & Auction

The NH 4-H Livestock Show & Auction provides the opportunity to purchase meat goats, lamb, beef and swine raised by New Hampshire 4-H members. The auction takes place each September at the Hopkinton State Fair.

Why should I buy an animal at the auction?

• To support local, small-scale agriculture.
• To eat high quality, locally grown meat.
• To support and encourage youth to develop life skills and responsibility through their market animal project which helps them become productive citizens in the future.
• Consider donating high quality, locally grown meat to the less fortunate.
• To get free publicity for your business at the Hopkinton State Fair and in local newspapers.
