Feb 11, 2010 90 0 18,630 Im still thinking which is better in these two cards ati radeon 6770/5770 or nvidia GTX 550 ti,i know there are many thread likes this existing around but im still confusing. I open this topic because im planning to upgrade my card from 4670 so i need to gather information for picking the best card for my system core i3 2100 3.1ghz card ati 4670 memory: 2x2gig ram 1333 mobo: Asrock h61M U3S3 psu: silverstone 500w SST-ST50F-ES Hd: WD 500g sata3 Monitor:Led AOC 18.5-inch Led wide E936VW with usb i use my rig for gaming like crysis 2, crysis warhead, MWF3, battlefield 3 and i want excellent graphics when im playing,i want most of my games set at maximum settings at my 1366x768 resolution,But now i can still play this games in my present set up but i cant max the settings only playable in mid and slight high settings w/ ranging to 20-35fps. so i need a good feedback for picking the best card, my budjet is tight just enough to buy one of these cards Solution

What bullcrap is that? It only tested one game. Here is a better review. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-550-ti-gf116-radeon-hd-5770,2892-6.html Go through and look at each game. Or listen to the conclusion.
Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 550 Ti delivers solid competition for the Radeon HD 5770. The aggregate numbers show them to be incredible similar, in fact, though both cards claim victories in specific applications. Click to expand...

@OP: even in 550ti vs 5770, the 5770/6770 (128 bit memory bus) has lower power consumption for it's similar performance to 550ti (192 bit memory bus). 550ti will have a very slight edge in nvidia-friendly games and in physx performance. Upvote 0 Downvote dish_moose

If you look at the chart on the last page where they normalize the scores against the GTS450, you'll see that the GTX550TI is on avg 18.3% faster, while the 5770 is "only" 17.2%. (the 5770 does have a higher minimum FPS score.)
