   I was sure I had enhanced BT on my F32, did have on the previous E92 to stupidly assumed that a newer car would have this feature. Nope! I’ve checked via the VIN decoder and I have 6NH which is standard BT and USB connectivity. As music was playing through the car via my phone I though this was part of the enhanced BT, clearly not. This is why I can’t get SMS messages in the car, not a huge issue by any means, but a little annoyed when my 2012 320d did this. Quite a handy feature at times. I think there is a coding option for this, how simple (or not!) is this to set up? Or is there a hardware update needed as well?

   It can be coded with Esys or carly/Bimmercode. In Esys you'd change 6nh to 6ns in the VO and recode the head unit. You will get a fault code for the missing microphone on the passenger side but this can be fdl coded out so the error doesn't occur. I coded enhanced Bluetooth on my f30 mainly to get full text messages.

   Thanks. I’d need a laptop with software/cable for the ESYS option, think the BimmerCode/Carly options have a dongle and software. Seems the Carly one has a few other options I might be interested in.

   Now I’m wondering if this might cause an issue with the warranty? Sure the dealer would be able to tell if I’ve been in and coded various upgrades.

   Possibly it could affect the warranty for the head unit, if they were being really anal about it. However they wouldn't be able to refuse a warranty claim for something unrelated, like a shock absorber for example. Imo this is an order of magnitude less than say remapping the engine and then claiming for a blown head gasket. I appreciate people may not want to risk it, however.

   If they plug the car into Germany then you will loose all the coding, this is interesting using bimmercode

   I now use Bimmercode for all my coding and have retired the laptop with ESYS. Bimmercode makes it simple and backs up the modules automatically for you, it is also has the advanced options that are found in ESYS. I use an Iphone with an internet cable & lightning to ethernet cable adapter

   I have one of the old Carly dongles sat idle in garage ...... If patient I can send when off the steal island With the older units the software was free, though now I believe there is annual subscription so it’s perhaps not a cost wise option albeit I had the app pre costing!

   A very kind offer sir. I’ve already got the Carly Lite, will do some reading as to what the full version offers. Time to do a bit of research.

    I’ve been on both the Carly and BimmerCode websites to see what they offer the F32, neither seem to offer audio/BT coding.

    Watch the utube vid + the apps don't give guidance in advance mode that's why its not stated

    Nope! id have to dig pretty deep out here to find out! Though it’s in the second from top right hand drawer of roll cab next to the misc tray of torx bits..... in a cellophane bag? I have two versions of Carly software old and new, both working neither paid for as I had prior to them charging..... I wouldn’t be surprised if better coding software is available, I liked the simplicity of Carly as everything was easily found and undone on either phone or iPad
