RED/BLACK wire on terminal #1 of coil to the fuel pump relay. 3. BLACK wire on terminal #15 of coil to terminal #4 of the ECU. 4. Black wire on terninal #15 of coil to switched +12VDC (ignition switch). Cheers, WWR. #3 · Feb 8, 2009 Re: 80 rabbit coil wiring diagram? (WackyWabbitRacer) ok now how would i wire in a non hall sender coil so i can use a points distributor(have a spare and cant afford to replace hall unit right now) i asume id use these 2 still as they dont need the ecu RED/BLACK wire on terminal #1 of coil to the fuel pump relay. Black wire on terninal #15 of coil to switched +12VDC (ignition switch). what other wires would i need to run to get the coil to work. #4 · Feb 8, 2009 Re: 80 rabbit coil wiring diagram? (southcountycustoms) What car are we working with? A 1980 Rabbit or another model/year? On the 1980 Rabbit with points distributor, the attached wires as shown in the Bentley wiring diagram are: 1. Red/Black wire from terminal #1 of the coil to the fuel pump relay. 2. A Green wire from terminal #1 of the coil to the ignition distributor. 3. A Black wire from terminal #15 of the coil to terminal 15A of the starter. 4. A Clear/Voilet ballast resistance wire from terminal #15 of the coil to switched +12VDC. Cheers, WWR. #5 · Feb 8, 2009 hmm i have the red/black and black wire but the green wire appears to be brown or tan. i have no clear/violet wire when u say switched do u mean like the ignition switch? or just a switched location in the fuse box #6 · Feb 8, 2009 Re: (southcountycustoms)
