This old vintage cafe continues in our series of vintage, old-school cafes with upcycled furniture in old colonial buildings.

81 cafe is a neat, old vintage coffee shop nestled into a small street off of Hai Ba Trung in the heart of Tan Dinh, one of our favorite wards. You’ll be sure it’s the right place when you come across a collection of matching old vintage scooters haphazardly parked in the entrance of the old café. Those belonging to the seemingly ever increasing population of hip young, coffee-addicted Vietnamese patrons. Charming doesn’t even come close to describing this old café. Sit and enjoy the odd décor with peeling wallpaper, retro fixed-up furniture and a small library of old dusty books dug up from a time long passed. Sitting for a drink in this shop is not unlike being transported to another dimension, one of old days transfixed with hipster youth. Sample the wide menu of teas, Vietnamese coffees, and juices. There is a single menu which is located at the entrance, so make your decision before entering.
