texsn95 I have had both headlights out a number of times over the years to replace angel eye bulbs, and have never run into these errors until last month. 9CBC Communication with step motor controller, left 9CBD Communication with step motor controller, right This time I had my headlights out for 3 days while I had the oil cooler replaced. The lights were stored in the garage, and the wiring harnesses to them was tucked out of the way so the shop wouldn't accidentally tug on them. While they were out I replaced the driver's side angel eye that had gone out. This was an older angel eye that I had, and is longer than the newer ones (less clearance), and it took some wriggling to get in place. Maybe I pulled something loose? So on startup, I can see the adaptive headlight test work in the vertical but flash the error as it's trying to do the horizontal. I removed the driver's side step motor module and the connection looked just fine from what I could see. This is pretty much retired from daily service so it's not a huge issue but I'd ilke to find out what's going on. I don't see how the shop could have messed something up, as I don't think they even had to remove the bumper. I do have INPA and ISTA, so what's the next step? Also I think I read somewhere that if the driver's module fails, that it will trip a light for both sides, but am not sure about that. #1 · Aug 28, 2018 I have had both headlights out a number of times over the years to replace angel eye bulbs, and have never run into these errors until last month. 9CBC Communication with step motor controller, left 9CBD Communication with step motor controller, right This time I had my headlights out for 3 days while I had the oil cooler replaced. Had the headlights out for a few days as I was refinishing them. Put them back in, made sure the connections were tight, and got these 2 codes. The headlights, angel eyes, and turn signals all work properly. I used ProTool to try and clear the codes but they came back. Anyone have any idea what could be causing these codes and how to resolve it? Thanks! #4 · Aug 11, 2021 IIRC, all I did was pull the neg terminal off the battery for 5 minutes to clear them out, since I had run the car for a bit without them plugged in, I guess the car didn't like that too much. I'm not sure if I used INPA before-hand to try and clear them out. #5 · Aug 11, 2021 reset LM and see if it fixed the problem 1 Reply #7 · Aug 12, 2021 Great to hear. Now if everything else on these cars was as easy to fix...🥵 #8 · Nov 27, 2021 Had the same problem, tonight. Your suggestion worked great. Thank you! 0 Reply #9 · Nov 27, 2021 You could just simply reset the LMA module via ISTA without disconnecting the battery. #10 · Jan 16, 2022 (Edited) Where can i reset module lma in ista ? 0 Reply #11 · Jan 16, 2022 At Control Unit tree Click “LM” then quickly click “Call up ECU functions” on the bottom left Click “Component triggering” on top right of the submenu Click “Reset control unit” Insert Quotes Post Reply
