COMDT COGARD WASHINGTON DC JUL 20/ALCOAST 292/20B. The Coast Guard Ombudsman Program, COMDTINST 1750.4 (series) 1. The Commandant’s vision for our Service is founded on our Core Values ofHonor, Respect, and Devotion to Duty. Every member of our workforce has aresponsibility to foster a climate of trust and dignity, as well as a duty toact against abhorrent crimes like sexual assault. In alignment with REF (A)and the Sexual Assault Prevention, Response, and Recovery (SAPRR) program’semphasis on facilitating victim recovery, this message updates REF (B) toremove sexual assault as a reportable issue to command leadership for CoastGuard ombudsmen. 2. REF (B) is amended as follows:   a. 5.m.(17)(c) remove alleged sexual assault, and    b. 5.m.(20) remove paragraph. 3. Ombudsmen should assist individuals who report or share a personal accountof sexual assault by directing them to their servicing HSWL Sexual AssaultResponse Coordinator.4. This policy is effective immediately and will be incorporated in the nextupdate to REF (B), which will be released within the next year.
