Outdoor Education

Outdoor Activity residential breaks at the Cairngorms Adventure Centre. We offer 2-7 day programmes for Schools, as well as the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and Youth Group activities in. Summer & Winter.

Aviemore & Cairngorms

Explore the Cairngorms National Park by paddle or on foot (or skis in Winter). Check out our huge range of adventure days or multi day journeys and expeditions.

Great Glen & Fort William

Visitors to Fort William, Inverness and the Caledonian Canal can take part in a wide range of Activities. These include, Water, mountain and snow sports from the shores of Loch Oich.

Active Ayrshire

Our activities in Ayrshire are based on the spectacular Craigengillan estate. This hidden & little known gem is only an hour from Glasgow. From it we can run any activity we offer.

Outdoor Activity days, Holidays & Courses In Scotland

From our 3 Centres, Active Outdoor Pursuits offer the widest range of adventure outdoor activities in Scotland. Our highly skilled and friendly instructors take pride in our work. Ensuring that every customer, regardless of age or ability have an experience that will be memorable for years to come. With this in mind, Active offers Adventures for everyone. These include, introductory activity days, holidays, sessions for Individuals, families and groups, as well as a 4-month or 5-month outdoor Instructor Training Courses for those seeking the best job in the world. We have Water, Mountain and Winter Sports available for everyone, all year round. Of course, our popular summer activities are White Water Rafting & Canyoning. And In winter why not take a look at our Winter Skills, Skiing, Ski Touring or Snowboarding courses. 

Schools, DofE & Youth Groups

We offer specialist courses for schools, colleges and youth groups. On these, we provide 2-7 day multi-activity residential breaks at our Cairngorms Adventure Centre. We are also an approved BC paddle sports provider. As well as an AALA holder and a Visit Scotland 5 Star Activity Provider. Active are also a DofE Approved Activity Provider for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Expeditions and Gold Residential weeks.

Outdoor Instructor Training Courses

Are you passionate about the outdoors and love sharing your experience with others? If so, you may want to consider a career as an outdoor instructor. Look no further than Active’s Outdoor Instructor Training Courses. These extensive courses will train and certify you in up to 30 adventurous outdoor activities in Scotland, Spain, Colorado & Austria.

Accommodation & Equipment Rental

Looking for a place to stay in the Cairngorms National Park for your group while undertaking our activities? If you’re visiting Aviemore and the Cairngorms, we have accommodation at our Cairngorms Adventure Centre in Newtonmore for group activity residential bookings.

Looking to rent equipment? Rental for canoes and Touring kayaks is available throughout the year.  With this in mind, we can tailor a rental to suit you and your trip. In winter we also offer ski and snowboard rental as well as ski mountaineering kit.
