I've been using this for a long time, a thoughtful cooling solution will solve any problem. But considering the rising prices, I just bought a Ryzen 3600, a motherboard and RAM to compare later. I'll keep the Noctua in the family, I'll build my son his own PC)

The FX-8350 performs pretty well in games using multiple cores. It's still functioning at 1080P. If you can seize a good cooler system and a decent system configuration, it would form a great system.

Still plenty of power left in this one It's a whole warehouse full) Still performing at high levels with any of the latest games without any problems)! Absolutely everything runs on ultra! Software and all kinds of editors run with ease. I have been using this processor for 6 years now. Haven't noticed any problems or limitations at all.
