Apple AR/VR headset — Apple is working on their most advanced chips for the upcoming AR/VR headset, which may also come with multiple highly sensitive 3D sensing to accurately copy the hand gestures and movements.

The tech world has a lot in store for consumers this year, especially with the much-awaited arrival of advanced gadgets in AR (augumented reality) and VR (virtual reality) sectors. While Facebook, now known as Meta, has already launched their much talked about AR-enabled smart glasses in collaboration with luxe eyewear brand Ray-Ban, known as Stories, Apple isn't far behind in the competition either. According to reports, the Cupertino-based tech company is all set to launch their AR/VR headset this year which would come equipped with three displays and some compact features to take it up the notch. As per a report by analyst Ross Young, the display features will include two micro OLED screens with one AMOLED panel while Sony set will provide the micro OLED displays for Apple to use on its upcoming headset. The tech giant may use the AMOLED panel for low-resolution peripheral vision on the gear, thereby enabling a foveated display system in their AR/VR-enabled headset.You Might Also Like:

There are also speculations that the headset may come with at least six-eight optical modules to simultaneously give continuous video see-through AR experience and features.The headset will be similar to the Oculus Quest. Compared to the prototypes being tested at present, the headset includes external cameras to enable some AR properties.Apple's headset, rumoured to be launched in 2022, could cost around $2,000 to $3,000 (roughly around Rs 1,49,000 to Rs 2,23,50o in India). It is believed to come with some impressive power packed features such as including at least 15 camera modules and eye-tracking, possibly iris recognition. The reports further reveal that Apple is working on the most advanced chips for their upcoming AR/VR headset, which may also come with multiple highly sensitive 3D sensing features in order to provide extraordinary hand tracking. Just like how Face ID is able to figure out user's facial expressions to generate accurate representation of Animoji on their Apple devices, similarly, the sensors on the headset will be able to detect objects in user's hands and track the movements flawlessly.According to Apple analyst Ming-chi Kuo, the sensors will be able to detect objects from up to 200 per cent further away than the iPhone's Face ID.Apple's much anticipated headset will focus on giving the best user experience in gaming, media consumption, and communication.
