AWDPhillyT5 A Hey this is my first time posting on this site. I have an 05 S40 T5 that I am going to start working on this summer. I was looking for a good performance exhaust system for the car and found that there isnt a catless downpipe for the S40 but there is one for the C30 at atpturbo.com and on Ebay... Does anyone know if that downpipe is the same as the S40. I don't care about the emissions and I will just put on the stock DP when its time for inspection. Does anyone know any negative impact that having no Catylitic converter will have on the car? #1 · Apr 28, 2009 Hey this is my first time posting on this site. (PasS40ion) if you have no CAT, you will get a CEL. #5 · Apr 28, 2009 The ATP C30 dp will fit a FWD S40 T5 (I have it on mine). It will not fit an AWD. An O2 sensor spacer (IPD sells one) will prevent CELs with a track-pipe installed in place of a cat. The ATP installs easily because it goes in as two pieces. The stock pipe comes out easier as two pieces (read: hack saw). #6 · Apr 28, 2009 Re: (mattdoc) Thanks for the info and the quick responses. I have a T5 AWD so I guess it won't fit. I know a guy around my area (Philadelphia) who does good work with mandrel bending so I guess I will have to have him fabricate me a pipe. Do you think I could take him the C30 and have him customize it or should I just have him make one from scratch? Also what are your opinions on a Garrett GT3071R/GT2871R upgrade vs keeping the stock turbo and doing and ECU upgrade. I am selling my 1993 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 which is full of mods to pay for all the upgrades in case people were wondering how I'm going to pay for this

He's looking at making an AWD downpipe, I think it's for his girlfriend's S40 T5. #10 · Apr 28, 2009 Re: (AWDPhillyT5) So far doesnt sound like anyone on the forums has posted anything about doing the upgrade kit yet other than custom built kits. From what ive investigated it looks like a pretty sweet kit although for most of our setups i would stick with the GT2871R. When doing major upgrades as these you need to be cautious as to whether its your only source of transportation and if your mechanically inclined to maintain it. When crossing over into major upgrades you have to expect the unexpected and be prepared to fix it. For most i dont recommend doing this kind of stuff unless you can do it yourself or afford others to do it for you and some. Insert Quotes Post Reply
