AWS Database Migration Service Now Supports C5, R5 And T3 ...
Posted On: Nov 18, 2020
Starting today, you can launch R5, C5, and T3 instance types when using AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) to migrate your databases. You can easily scale up to these new instance classes by modifying your existing replication instance through the AWS DMS, AWS CLI, or AWS SDK.
R5 instances are memory-optimized instances that deliver an additional 5% memory per vCPU and a ~20% increase in CPU performance over R4.
C5 instances are optimized for compute-intensive workloads and deliver cost-effective high performance at a low price-per-compute ratio.
T3 instances are the next generation burstable general-purpose instances that provide a baseline level of CPU performance with the ability to burst CPU usage at any time for as long as required.
Please refer to the AWS Database Migration Service to learn more about the service and refer to AWS Database Migration Pricing for pricing details.
