The B&M Unimatic is a universal

shifter that will work with virtually anytwo, three or four speed automatictransmission. It differs from other uni-versal shifters in that it uses a cableto connect the shifter to the transmis-sion rather than a solid rod. This al-lows you to locate the shifter almostanywhere on the floor of the vehicle. The B&M Unimatic also incorporatesa neutral safety switch so that youcannot accidentally start the vehiclein gear. An additional safety featurerequires that the shifter stick must bepushed down lightly to shift into Re-verse or Park.

Cable brackets and levers are in-

cluded for most popular automatictransmissions. However to install thisshifter on a Ford AOD transmissionyou will need B&M installation kit#40496. To install this shifter on a4L60E or 4L65E equipped with aPRNDL switch you will need B&Minstallation kit #75498, otherwise usesupplied GM bracket.

The installation of this shifter can

be handled by anyone with a mini-mum of mechanical experience andbasic hand tools. It is important tofollow the instructions. Read each stepand if you do not understand it, goback and read it again.
