PurpleSnow P Hi there Guys. I have a jetta mk3 clx 1800i MP9. my problem is i had a leak from rust on the top of windscreen that got a lot of the car wet inside. but i fixed the leak. left the car open for a few days to dry. Since then the car doesn't want to start. You have to try it quite a few times until it idles but then it wont ref up if u press the gas it dies. it feels like the fuel pressure dropping and gaining the whole time. This goes in for a while till its bit hot then it is fine for the whole day. I found the engine control relay had a dry joint that i fixed but still the same i have gone through all the other relays and they all fine. petrol pump relay is fine. There was damp on the fuse box as well the last few days. #1 · Oct 26, 2013 Hi there Guys. Let the whole car dry out, check EVERYTHING for corrosion and signs of electrical damage, check your ignition system over, and cross your fingers. #3 · Oct 27, 2013 map sensor found the problem of not starting... it was the map sensor on the intake. changed it out with a spare one. it starts fine now and idles and revs up. but there is still a flat spot at bottom end when revving hard from idle. Could this still be the sensor. I know it and old one. when i plug it out it sound perfect apart from the sporadic idling. #4 · Oct 27, 2013 the 1800 has about the same coil pack as the 2L mine is a 3 pin module. I know the issue with water on them. but ill have a look at that as well. #5 · Nov 8, 2013 sort of fixed Ive changed out the maf sensor with a spare. but now the car is sometimes low on power and sometimes not im not in the market now to buy a new one since they are so expensive. But thanx for the input Insert Quotes Post Reply
