Patience and timing are key.
This model I bought does not have a psi gauge on it so it makes it a bit tricky to know when to open the valve. My main intention was for steaming milk but it takes a lot longer to gain the pressure to really steam a nice micro foam than I was anticipating. The espresso it produces isn't the best I've brewed either with other stove top or home espresso makers. Maybe it needs a little more tuning in and tweeting I just haven't gotten to the point of a great cup of cafe yet. Wee bit disappointed also in the design of the steaming wand it is an utterly awkward position to hold your foaming carafe in.

1. Guys, ya need to read and follow directions. 2. Brewing will be iffy until you get the 'feel' of the machine. 3. After that, the coffee is excellent, latte' foam is good. Simple machine, good coffee, great combination.

We use it for camping, no electricity needed makes a great cup of coffee latte. Takes a little while to heat up the water. You don’t Want to put the flame up too high it may damage the knobs.
