leonoled L I have an opportunity to get either Benq Tk800m or for $300 more the w1700m. However, I am not sure if its worth the extra $300 but specs are near identical. I be using in dark room so no need for brightest projector (tk800m) and maybe instead the larger colour wheel is better option for the extra $300 on w1700m? Its looks like the two projectors are almost identical: Compare Projectors #1 · Jul 29, 2020 I have an opportunity to get either Benq Tk800m or for $300 more the w1700m. The W1700m has a RGBRGB color wheel, and the TK850m does not. But the W1700m is kind of an older model. How about a W2700 or Optoma UHD51/A/ UHD350x. #3 · Jul 29, 2020 If you can jump up to the ht3550 (w2700 I think it is) I would do that. That would give you the expanded color gamut. Between these two you have listed there are a few differences like frame interpolation and something else that kind of works like the darbee devices on the 1700. In addition the 1700 has a bigger percentage of rec709 coverage (might even be 100%) vs less on the tk800. The ht3550 besides having the additional color wheel for dci p3 coverage also has a dynamic iris. All 3 have lag time in the 50-60ms range. Just something to be aware of if you game. Sent from my SM-N970U using Tapatalk #4 · Jul 29, 2020 Thanks for reply There is a current sale with these 2 only and a $300 diffrence. Whilst w2700 is $800 more. Was originally going for tk800m but for $300 more I think it better to get wider color as I dont need the extra brightness. Will use only for movies on a weekend and not for gaming. Already have a 65" Sony oled so the projector is a luxury extra to get a big screen now since cinemas all shut. Only getting cause on sale and I think both are good value money 4k projectors with the w1700m having a slighter edge worth an extra $300. #5 · Jul 29, 2020 Does anyone know what the w1700m number is in other countries? #6 · Jul 29, 2020 I don't think the W1700m has a North American counterpart. But how can the W2700 be $800 more? Regardless, there are other 4K RGBRGB color wheel models, like the Optomas mentioned above, or the Viewsonic PX727 4K, Vivitek HK2288, Optoma UHD300x, UHD40.
